Dr. Derek Garza is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a focus on sports rehabilitation, athletic development, and performance coaching. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA and his B.S. in Kinesiology from California State University, Fresno, where he lettered in Track and Field as a Division I athlete. He is the founder and treating clinician at GRID Physical Therapy and Performance, based in Orange County, CA.
Derek works across orthopedic rehabilitation, return to sport, and high level athletic development and performance. He has worked with athletes across the NFL, MLB, Premier Lacrosse League, World Strongman, and Olympic Track and Field. He co-instructs national seminars through Plus Plyos Inc. alongside educator and performance coach Matt McInnes Watson, and serves as a recurring guest lecturer in Chapman University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Derek was the injured athlete told to quit. He didn't. That experience drives every session at GRID because he knows what it takes to come back, and he knows what's possible on the other side.
